Today’s metal-on-metal technology is the result of over one and a half decades of intense research, development and clinical evaluation. Since 1988 Metasul™ has been successfully used to restore the mobility of over 200,000 patients. This experience has formed the foundation for the latest evolutionary development – the Durom™ Hip Resurfacing.  Advanced engineering and materials technology coupled with Swiss precision manufacturing has resulted in this exceptional hip prosthesis. Developed for the younger and more active patient, it is designed to restore high levels of function and joint stability whilst removing as little bone as possible. The articulating Metasul™ components are made of Protasul™ -21 WF, creating the first wrought - forged CoCr hip resurfacing prosthesis.

Precise and user friendly instrumentation is the key to successful restoration of the patient’s anatomy and function. In developing the Durom™ Hip Resurfacing, surgeons

and engineers focus was on the development of a surgical technique that achieved the

goals of bone preservation and accurate and re producible positioning of the implants.

The result is a unique, sophisticated and easy to use femoral jig.
